Mercury just doesn’t have the opposable thumbs needed to play Halo. What’s a cat to do? Stack himself with Halo stuff, of course! From his perch near the TV, Mercury lets his eyes roll back in extreme concentration, satisfied that, at last, he has achieved the dream, the legend of the catstackathelete. Great work, Mercury and owner Amanda!

Also: We’d really like to get a new Catstacking contest going for this summer. We’ve been trying to come up with a way to somehow couple the contest with getting more Likes on Facebook (since we’ve been stuck at just shy of 300 for quite some time). If you have any suggestions on how to integrate that aspect into a contest, let us know. Otherwise, stay tuned.

Just when Milo thought it was safe to have a nice catnap on the couch…along came his pal Beany the hamster. Sensing an opportunity to create a moment of catstacking notoriety, Beany climbed on up and the rest is history! Excellent work, Milo, Beany, and Greg. Also, this catstack wins the prize for the most color-coordinated catstack ever!

We’re you’re studying for those semester tests, you’ve got to take a break sometime. And why not take a little break with some catstackery, like Luna has done in this picture. I’m not going to lie. When someone sends us a cranium stack we throw a tickertape parade right here in the hallways of the Catstackers palace. And this morning we have an amazing cranium stack by catstackathelete Bert! He has really set the bar high with his determined gaze, rigid form, and tall, towering stack of inverted stacking rings. Excellent job, Bert and owner Jennifer. I think Bert is going to be hard to beat as far as this kind of stack is concerned. What do you think?

Also, when you have some free time (like now?), visit ca$hcats.biz. It’s like a very niche version of catstacking!

Boomer has been incredibly helpful lately. He loves to sit in front of the computer monitors for his bathes. He also like to help with the laundry. Due to the space constrictions of the laundry stacking area though, he got stacked while helping. It really was too much trouble to move.

Internationally-recognized catstackathelete Dash is back today with a great new stack! As you can see, he is making sure that his skills are razor sharp for the next catstacking contest, which owner Susan reminds us has not happened for awhile. She’s right. We need to get on that. Anyway, Dash has created an excellent (and colorful!) stack from every cat’s favorite place to nap: the back of the couch. Thanks Susan and Dash!

Catstacked: Gothling

With a look of defiant intensity, tabby Gothling seems to ask, “Is it me holding up the remotes or are the remotes holding up me?” Whatever the case, Gothling doesn’t need to question the validity of catstackery. Catstacking, as you know, has already been recognized in twelve nations as a sanctioned sport. In more remote areas of Indonesia, catstacking is considered a national treasure. OK, I made that up, but only the last part. Anyway, thanks Gothling and Pamela – good job!

Today we have a most excellent offering by a cat named Honey. Snacktime is almost over, but Honey has decided to make a stack out of the last of the treats. As you can see, she has done this with the verve of a first class catstackathelete. Her stillness is her poetry. Honey’s handler writes, “She only moved at all because of the cookie, she tried to eat it.” Thanks, guys!

Rocky has stacked four South Park characters neatly down his back in a line. He makes it looks easy. But you can tell from his expression that extreme skill and perseverance has been required to delivery this quality stack! Excellent job, Rocky and owner Paul!

Rocky is also our first cat ever to stack from the beautiful islands of Hawaii! And he looks exactly like Boomer. Maybe he is Boomer’s long lost brother. Can Boomer come and visit you, Rocky, like tomorrow?

Whatstacked: five Christmas cards, a stocking, ornament and the star off a Christmas tree

Catstackathelete Remy sent us this great Christmas stack just in time for the holidays! But, due to admin negligence, it is not making it’s appearance until now, after the New Year. Still, I think this stack is very appropriate as we return to work and remember all the fun we had. It’s time to disassemble the Christmas trees – maybe all those cats out there can help?

Owner Melissa adds that her last stacker cat, Lola, recently died and that Remy has stepped up the plate so that catstacking may continue to be a time-honored family tradition. Melissa “told him to take it easy on his first stack, but he insisted on adding more. Lola would be proud.” (Presumably this was said in kittyese.) Thanks Melissa and Remy! Happy New Years!
